If you're looking for a quick, filling, yummy meal to take back to Sonenalp, Salsa's might just be the best option in town. Be sure to go there hungry, but don't go in a hurry. There is usually a line, and food is made to order so it isn't the fastest meal in America. But its worth every second. Salsa's operates out of a tiny space at the corner of Chateaux and Old Mammoth Rd, not far from Von's. Until recently, my crew would have overtaken the cozy indoor seating area with its small tables and few chairs but Salsa's has added a ton of extra seating outside, which is really nice. Still, we're creatures of habit so we usually pick up food to take home. We all order, then The Husband and I walk to 100 yards to Black Doubt to grab some beer for the road (click here to read about the best beer in town). We all rally once the food is ready and head home to mow down. My kids love the fish tacos and the giant burrito, which come wrapped in foil a al Chipotle. I usually opt for the salad, with a healthy dose of carnitas. The burrito and salad are enough for 2 people to share, unless you want leftovers, which my kids usually do. Be sure to stop by the salsa bar, which is now self-serve and is located to the left of the order bar. There are some great flavors here, but take note of the spice level. I have hair on my chest now, and I think its all due to this salsa bar. Salsa's also just added a new location in Bishop, on the North end of town not too far from the casino gas station. If you've tried it and have a review, send me an email with your review and pics so I can add it to our list. Salsa's Taqueria Excellent tacos and mexican carry out 588 Old Mammoth Rd.
