Ok, call me a tacky tourist, Ugly American, whatever. But its safe to say that my kids are counting the days until the uber-tacky Mammoth Mega Zip zipline opens. And its not just my kids. I CAN NOT WAIT to try this myself with The Husband riding right next to me. Not only will it be the longest and steepest zipline in North America, but it will stretch more than a mile and will carry us over terrain that we've skied at least 5 million times: from the Summit, over McCoy and down to the Adventure Center, located right Main Lodge. In case you're a fan of numbers, that means the ride will start at an altitude of over 11,000 feet, will stretch 2100 vertical feet, and will take riders to a possible 60MPH during the 'flight.' Participants (me! me! me!) will be able to sit (nope) wear a "superman-style harness" (yes, if superwoman harnesses are also available), and ride side-by-side with a friend (that's you, Husband) who will ride on a parallel cable.
